Symphony
I led research studies at Symphony for 5 years from it's initial product launch to several complete re-designs.
The Evolution of Symphony
Symphony Version 1.0
-
My research strategy included a deep focus on ethnography. I led onsite research studies across UK, France, Germany, Nordics, APAC and USA.
-
I guided strategic conversations to steer the over-arching product direction according to customer needs
-
I studied usage analytics to understand behaviour patterns and figure out which qualitative research methods to utilise to understand why
Symphony Version 1.5
-
I collaborated with Product & Design to scope out needs and utilize mixed methods research including contextual interviews, usability & concept testing, diary studies, tree studies & surveys
-
I tracked research impact ROI (by measuring task success rates & engagement)
-
I employed a holistic evaluative research approach: Unmoderated and moderated testing, in-person and remote, hallway and guerilla Testing
Symphony Version 2.0
-
I evangelised for design-test-learn iterative design processes during a complete product re-design
-
I synthesized findings, focusing teams on key, actionable insights, and socialised for broader company awareness e.g. collaborative affinity mapping|
-
I advocated to others (including C-level) on the importance of learning about our users e.g. through Lunch & Learns, creating highlight reels
